Your first job?
I’ve worked on a farm since I was a kid, but my first official job was shelving books at a public library.
Your greatest indulgence?
Vacations to Disney World and electronics.
What's your favorite T.V. series?
Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Favorite season, and why?
Spring, because it’s full of new life and we can put away the winter coats!
What's one book that has impacted you?
“Flight to Heaven: A Pilot's True Story” By: Capt. Dale Black.
Most recent purchase?
Renewed the cellular data plan on my iPad. This is actually the second most recent, but sounds way cooler than my actual last purchase of groceries and gas.
When did you first come to Southland?
I was a freshman at UK, fall of 2005.
What's one thing people don't know about you?
I’m a flight instructor and fly a local news helicopter for special events like Friday night flights.
What was your childhood ambition?
To become a search and rescue helicopter pilot.
What's something God's been teaching you lately you didn't know before?
Making myself less makes Him greater. Everyone you meet is fighting a difficult battle, so be respectful and empathetic as much as possible, thinking of others before yourself.
Your role at SCC?
I assist in designing and maintaining the data networks and systems that interconnect our wonderful staff and venues.
One of your proudest moments?
Marrying my wonderful wife and witnessing the birth of our son.
What is your definition of a retreat?
A quiet place to reflect and recharge spiritually and physically.
What brought you to Southland?
The production team and the awesome technologies used in augmenting the worship experience.
What kept you here?
Leaders with high integrity and values.
Your most memorable experience?
Flying an aircraft by myself for the first time.
What inspires you?
People of high character who conduct themselves in the same manner regardless of the people they are around.
Your favorite snack?
Bread pudding from Disney’s ‘Ohana restaurant.
If you could vacation anywhere...where would you go?
Walt Disney World, Florida. Sensing a pattern, yet?
What's your biggest challenge?
Letting go of control and operating on limited information without understanding the big picture.
Who lives in your house?
My wife: Michelle, son: Caleb, dog: Katie, and myself.
