Passion: White Flag, Gungor, Hillsong, Desperation Band, Shane & Shane, and a good little collection of country music!
Your first job?
I was the manager of a smoothie stand at a minor league baseball stadium

What’s your favorite T.V. series?

Parks and Recreation. Hilarious.
Favorite season, and why?

Fall. I love when the weather gets a little cooler. And what baseball fan doesn’t love October?! It’s the Cubs’ year, I just know it!
What’s one book that has impacted you?
“The Great Omission” by Dallas Willard. This book really inspired me for ministry, and more than that, to make disciples.
Most recent purchase?
The Passion: White Flag album
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I got to play basketball with Michael Jordan’s son for a week at a basketball camp. One day Michael Jordan came to watch us play. During the game he was watching I was fouled while shooting, which meant I got to shoot free throws in front of the king of basketball… I missed both. It was awesome.
What was your childhood ambition?
Professional baseball player
What’s something God’s been teaching you lately you didn’t know before?

It isn’t a brand-new lesson for me, but God’s been reminding me how important it is to pray for wisdom. I’ve been reading in my devotionals about the transfer of leadership from David to Solomon and how pleased God became when Solomon prayed to God for wisdom when he could have had anything else he wanted. The Father loves giving wisdom to his children when they ask for it. I need to pray daily for wisdom in order to be a good disciple, a good husband, and a good leader.
Your role at SCC?

Middle School Pastor. I get to hang out with the coolest, craziest group of people at the church and disciple them.
One of your proudest moments?
Praying with a student who is embracing the love of Jesus for the first time. There truly is nothing like it.
What is your definition of a retreat?

The natural hot springs in the Rocky Mountains with a good book and worship music on my iPod.
What brought you to Southland?
The incredible vision to be an externally-focused church in Lexington and beyond. Also, the student ministries staff was so fun and welcoming. I could tell these guys cared about the teens at Southland and had a big vision for this city.
