Come Celebrate Your 5th Grader
The transition from 5th grade to 6th grade is a huge one for kids. Everything in their world is changing. They’re moving from elementary to middle school, from Children’s Ministry to Student Ministry and are taking a big step out of childhood into adolescence.
Here at Southland, we want to help your family make that transition as awesome as possible. We believe that during seasons like this, kids need their parents and other significant adults to come alongside them to celebrate and encourage them as they step into new territory.
That’s why this year we’re inviting all of our 5th grade families to join us for a special event called 5th Grade Celebration. It’s Sunday, May 7 at 1:30 pm in Building C. More than a graduation experience, it’s a time a time to celebrate your kids, remember what God has done in their lives and pray over them for their next season.
At its simplest, 5th Grade Celebration is going to be a time to party and pray.
We’re going to have an ice cream sundae bar, play some games and have some fun photo ops for you and your 5th grader. From there, we’ll then transition into a special time to thank God for what he’s done over the past several years in your child’s life. You’ll also have a chance to affirm your child’s identity in Christ and pray over their future and all that God has planned for them.
It’s going to be a blast. It’s going to be powerful. It’s going to be a celebration you won’t want to miss. This event is free but we need everyone who’s attending to pre-register here. After registration, you’ll receive some fun homework to help you prepare for this event.
