Proverbs 29:18, MSG

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed.

In the children’s book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Alice came upon a fork in the road while searching for a way out of Wonderland. “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?” she asked the Cheshire Cat. “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” the cat said. Alice replied that she really did not care. The smiling cat simply said, “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.”

God has revealed a vision to us, as well as a calling of who we are supposed to be.  And we need to know His call and live His call daily. That is what being “missional” is all about. When we do not live our lives on mission, we tend to stumble all over ourselves.

As a church, we know our mission. We know our calling. We will continue to stay focused on our mission and align the life of Southland to pursue it with a relentless persistence in the name of Jesus. There will be no questioning when we approach a fork in the road.

  • How about you individually? How in tune are you with the specific mission and call on your life?
  • Are you attending each day to what God has revealed to you in His Word?
  • Are you confident when you approach a fork in the road or indifferent?
